What are the use cases for evaporative cooling?

Wherever there is a process fluid to be cooled to a temperature a few degrees above the wet bulb temperature of air, an evaporative cooling system can be used: wet cooling tower for liquids, evaporative condenser for gases (especially ammonia). Some use cases:

• industrial process cooling,
• air conditioning of large buildings,
• power plants.
