1. Installation context
In 2021, MITA Cooling Technologies was contracted to supply a cooling system for a major machinery manufacturer for a textile company based in Dhaka, India. The main objective was to ensure effective heat dissipation in the wastewater treatment process, an essential element for the proper operation of production facilities.
The customer’s requirements included:
- cooling of treated water, closely linked to the treatment equipment installed at the end user;
- management of water with high levels of suspended solids, a common challenge in industrial wastewater treatment (particularly from the textile industry).
2. Proposed solution
MITA supplied two open cooling towers model PME 6704 AND CONT GSS, configured to meet the specific needs of this industrial environment: in fact, the “Splash” type fill pack was specifically chosen for its efficiency in treating water containing suspended solids. The fiberglass of the tower body and AISI 304 stainless steel ensure durability and non-corrodibility (important in the presence of dirty water).
These towers were also designed in Container version to facilitate long-distance transportation to the customer’s site. In addition, they were provided with a totally removable wall to facilitate internal inspection-a significant advantage for the client’s maintenance team.
3. Key to success
The installation met the customer’s expectations, providing efficient cooling with a positive impact on water purification operations. The main critical success factors that contributed to this result include:
- long-standing and established relationship between MITA and the machinery manufacturer;
- high-performance, durable and easy-to-maintain solutions that are critical to reducing downtime and operating costs;
- comprehensive advice from MITA at all stages of the project, from needs analysis to installation and final testing.
