MDC-F Table-Type Dry Cooler

MDC-F Table-type Dry cooler: operation
Dry coolers, or air coolers (or even dry cooling systems) are simple and reliable equipment.
The operating principle of MDC-F table-type dry cooler, and of all dry coolers in general, is based on a sensible heat exchange between air and water: air is drawn in by fans through a finned coil, while water (or a mixture of water and glycol) flows through the tubes that make up the coil. The fluid then cools as cooler ambient air laps the surface of the coil.
Fins are used to increase the overall heat exchange surface area so that the equipment can be as compact and efficient as possible. The water circuit is closed and never in contact with external elements.
In particular, the MDC-F series is an excellent cooling solution for small systems. A plus is also the low acquisition cost.
The only resource use envisaged is that of electricity to operate the fans, AC or EC type: their control is provided by a controller or frequency converter that modulates the fan revolutions according to the actual operating conditions. Their performance and return temperature are a consequence of the place of installation.
The approach temperature is usually about 5°C.
