1. Client company and need
The client of MITA Cooling Technologies, and its national consultant, is a French industrial engineering group that designs and supplies machinery and equipment for various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and energy.
This company approached MITA to meet the needs of an oil & gas project in Australia. The final installation was to be in Brisbane for cooling synthetic process oil (Jacytherm BT06 type). The high ambient temperatures (around 30°C) required an efficient solution with low or no water use.
2. Proposed solution
MITA Cooling Technologies supplied a V-shaped Dry Cooler system, model MDC-6-2×4 AC, with an AISI304/Aluminum structure and an alternating current (AC) motor. This system was capable of providing cooling of process oil from 60°C to 40°C, with a required cooling capacity of 500 kW.
The dry cooler is a technology that operates with zero water use. In addition, the MDC-V has V-shaped finned coil structure-a configuration that maximizes heat exchange surface area and system efficiency.
3. Results and key success factors
Some key factors contributed to the success of the project in particular.
- Wide range of solutions: the client was able to evaluate a wide range of options offered by MITA Cooling Technologies (evaporative, adiabatic, dry), choosing the one best suited to their needs.
- Comprehensive technical support: MITA Cooling Technologies and the French consultant provided assistance during all phases of the project, ensuring optimal installation and commissioning of the cooling system.
